Manakamana Temple built at Godavari Lalitpur

The main Manakamana Temple is situated in the Gorkha district of Nepal. It is sacred place of the Hindu Goddess Bhagwati, and believed to be an incarnation of Parvati. Manakamana is a combination of two words "mana" and "kamana". "Mana" meaning heart and "kamana" meaning wish. It is believed that  wishes of all people who visit her shrine and worship her are granted.

Manakamana temple situated at Lalitpur is believed to be a form of same Goddess Manakamana and is established here by local people with all essential rituals. It is believed that people who can't go to Gorkha can come and worship the Goddess here. Their wish too will be granted by her. This is one of the many form of Goddess Manakamana found at Lalitpur.

Manakama temple (small) is located at Godamchour, Lalitpur, almost 9 km away from Sathdobato which falls under Godavari municipality. A peaceful place with a temple at the middle of a green ground surrounded by greenery is indeed a place you must visit. Green fields, hills all around, small forests, view of Godavari and Phulchowki hill,view of Godavari highway, not far away from the city, near to a road, and above all a quiet place might be an attraction to people visiting here.

People visit here to worship Goddess Manakamana. Apart form that people also use this place as a picnic spot. It is a great place for a small picnic.  A short hike, worship of the shrine and a small dry picnic can also be a great idea. Quite place with green ground, facility of water, trees, with no houses around can be a best place to picnic for people who plan to picnic away from the crowd and busy schedule.

To go to pilgrim of small Manakamana, you have take a bus from Sathdabota or Lagankhel. From Sathdobato you head towards Godavari using Godavari highway. Passing through old local villages, which are full of cultures, Harisiddhi, Thaiba then Badegaun you finally reach Hadegaun. From Hadegaun you have to leave Godavari highway and take a rough gravel road on your left to reach Godamchour. When you reach a football ground at Godamchour, if you take a road on your left heading towards the hill, you will reach Bishankhu Narayan temple and Kot dada. Don't take that road, take the road going straight through the football ground, a basketball court on your left after around 1 km, when you stop seeing houses, you will finally reach Manakamana temple. Manakamana temple is located above the road, on a lap of a hill, make sure you don't miss the temple and go ahead.

Santaneshwor Mahadev temple located at Jharuwarashi, Lalitpur is a beautiful place to visit. It is believed that if you don't have a child, go worship here and you are blessed with a child. Santaneshwor is a Shiva temple at a top of the hill. It looks very beautiful from the down. Located at the top of a hill made of rocks with some salla tree at the East, You have to take a long steep ladder to reach the top.
