Bishankhu Narayan temple is located at Lalitpur, Bagmati, Nepal.
Bishankhu Narayan is one of the four Narayans located at each corner of
Kathmandu valley. Narayan is another name to Lord Bishnu. It is said that this
temple was built by Haridutta Varma around 43 - 143 AD.According to legend, the
hillock near the temple was formed when Lord Vishnu destroyed the demon
Bhasmasura, who, having attained from Lord Shiva the power to turn anybody he
touched into ashes, had tried to test the power upon the deity himself. Lord
Vishnu quite skilfully convinced the demon to test the power upon himself and
thus turned him into a mound of ashes

It is located at South
Eastern part of the valley. Despite only few kilometers away from the
city, this place is still unknown to many people. Located at a beautiful
landscape, the view of all three districts of kathmandu valley, Lalitpur,
Bhaktapur and kathmandu from the top of the temple is awesome.
Beside temples, shrine inside a
cave, trees, ladders,beautiful top with salla trees and rocks with a great
view, the main attaraction of this place is Kakaro, the cave.Many people
come to worship Bishnu here and enter this Kakaro. Ekadashi is the day when
people often visit here. There is a huge mela at Maha Ekadashi, a lot of people
from all over Nepal come here at that day.
To go to Bishankhu Narayan temple you can take a vehicle from
Lagankhel or Sathdobato to hadegaun or Godamchour and then have a short walk from
there. You have to take a left from a football ground at Godamchour, uphill
with forest on your right and a beautiful view of villages of lalitpur on your
left. Bishankhu Narayan temple is located on the way to Kot dada.

Narayan temple. It has story that when Bishnu was chased by a demon he ran
throung this kakaro but the demon got stuck here. It is still believed that
only the ones without any sins can easily pass through this Kakaro.
